Valentine’s Day – How to make the best of it when you’re single

So Valentine’s Day is approaching – or single awareness day if you like. And if you don’t have a partner then it can be a day that you may be dreading. After all, it’s no fun going in to the office and hearing all your co-workers gush over their soppy romantic morning or heading to Facebook to see snapshots of loved up couples being sickly sweet.

But seriously, when it comes to Valentine’s Day, a lot of it is down to expectations, expectations that are rarely lived up to and if you’re single then you’re already a winner because you’ve no expectations to begin with ergo no disappointment.

Here are a few tips on making the best of Valentine’s when you’re single…

Pamper yourself. Who says you need a man to show you the love? Simply dedicate Valentine’s Day to showing yourself how much you care – about you. Run a hot bubble bath, relax in front of your favourite film or tv show and give yourself a good pamper sesh.

Make plans with friends. Who said V-Day was just about the loved up couples, go and enjoy your night with friends and take advantage of all those Valentine’s Day offers.

Stop brooding. Seriously, it’s just another day on the calendar and the majority of those in a relationship probably aren’t having a film like romantic evening either. If you’re desperate to be in a relationship then stop getting in your own way and start making a concerted effort to get out there and find the man of your dreams.

Meet other singles. Get online and flirt up a storm. Start your search for your significant other   and you’ll have a great story to tell about how you met on Valentine’s Day.

There are so many opportunities to be had when it comes to Valentines Day whether you start the hunt for Mr Right or you decide to make it a day all about you, whatever you do be grateful that you’re in one loving relationship that can never go wrong – the one you have with yourself.
