Have you ever used a dating site – whilst in a relationship?
You’re bound to have heard the buzz around the app Tinder by now. But apparently a FIFTH – that’s right one fifth of people have used a dating app whilst in a relationship with someone else.
Whilst a staggering 44% of them go on dates whilst in a relationship.
Now we’re not suggesting that you start investigating what your partner is up to when you see them swiping away on their phone late at night but the latest research from voucher cloud is a worrying trend.
Although, we could give them the benefit of the doubt and guess that when people were asked “have you ever used a dating website or app whilst in a relationship” and they confessed it could have been as they may not have been “official”.
However, we’re keen to know what you think!!
Apparently some of the common dating websites used amongst those already in relationships were Plenty of fish (43%), Tinder (37%) and Match (29%). We are thrilled that UrbanSocial.com didn’t pop up – but then our users *are* amongst some of the best.
But seriously, what drives people to do this when they’ve already got someone at home. Some of the excuses used were that it was in their interests to shop around – outrageous.
A spokesperson for vouchercloud.com, said: ‘Dating websites and apps are becoming increasingly mainstream. A few years ago, dating online was seen as the preserve of geeks and the hopeless.’This certainly isn’t the case now, with more and more people investigating relationship options via the internet.
‘The anonymity of online dating though seems that it could be of benefit to those with a wandering eye. It’s much easier to connect with someone discreetly online then it is to do so in a public place.
‘Those who worry that they’re in a relationship with a potential philanderer though might want to take the odd peek at bills if they’re concerned, as it seems that a good percentage aren’t savvy enough to cover their tracks.’
So here’s our advice when it comes to finding out that your partner is visiting dating sites behind your back…
- Dump him. ASAP. Anyone who would look on a dating site whilst in a relationship most definitely isn’t worth it. Also, they’re duping the people they are meeting too so really they’re a bad person all around.
- Get yourself over to UrbanSocial.com, sign up and meet someone decent!!
