Girl’s Fashion: Four Key Beachwear Trends for 2016
Don your shades and fire up the BBQ; summer is truly upon us! Whether you plan to lounge by the pool, jet off to a tropical paradise or hit the local beach, you will need a stunning suit to debut. We’ve put together the key beachwear trends for 2016, so choose your favourite and hope for a heatwave!
1. Pretty prints-a-plenty
Ethnic and tropical prints on bikinis and swimsuits are dominating the high street and designer stores this season. The beautiful colours and patterns draw the eye and it’s easy to find something that will flatter your skin tone. We have chosen an ethnic pink swimsuit design by Matthew Williamson (£42) and a Bikini from River Island (£30).
2. Suits with cut-outs
One of the major summer 2016 beachwear trends on the runways was one-pieces with cut outs. Carefully placed holes and cut outs transformed suits into serious fashion statements. Our fave picks are this Motel Rainbow Tube top with Plunge Swimsuit (£35) and South Beach Tie Back Plunge Swimsuit (£22).
3. High waisted bikini bottoms
High waists have been popular for the last couple of years, and the trend is still as hot as it ever was. Choose from this Evil Twin Underwire Stripe Bikini (£56) and the Weekday Rhonda Bikini (£18).
4. Fringe is still in
Delicate, flowing fringe on your bikini top, bottoms or accessories is still as popular as it was in 2015. Fringe can be incredibly flattering too, helping to hide the stomach or hips. This River Island Bikini features fringe on the top (£25), whilst the Asos Orange Flower Print Swimsuit has eye-catching fringe across the hips (£38).
