4 Date Ideas for Foodies
1. Take a Cooking Class
Would you love to cook for your date, but you don’t know your way around the kitchen? Why not learn to cook together? Cooking classes are offered in most major cities, at local restaurants, and even at local community colleges. Just from doing a quick Google search, you can find everything from sushi-making classes to pizza-making classes. Choose your favourite cuisine and get cooking!
2. Cook Dinner at Home
After you’ve learned to cook with your date, you could plan to cook at home on you’re your next date. Careful though…. this scenario could get super romantic which is why you should only choose this option if you are comfortable going to your love-interest’s house and/or you’re comfortable with them coming to your place. Even if you aren’t a great chef, pick one thing that you do best, make sure your love-interest doesn’t have any dietary restrictions associated with your chosen dish, and fire up the grill! Do your research. Certain spices and ingredients can be an aphrodisiac so if you and your love-interest are feeling adventurous, you may want to get spicy or saucy.
3. Get Dinner ‘To Go’ and Dine ‘Al Fresco’
Buy a meal, maybe a bottle of wine, and take it to the location of your choice…the beach, a park, or perhaps an outdoor concert for example. You could go the simple route and grab a few sandwiches or go fancy with takeout from your favorite high-end restaurant. Either way, there’s something magical about dining under the stars no matter what cuisine you choose. This option is all about location, location, location!
4. Throw a Potluck Dinner Party
Especially on early dates, you might not be totally ready for a one-on-one date. If that is the case, why not invite your friends and ask your love-interest to invite his or her friends too and do a potluck dinner party. You never know, there could even be a love match between your friends and your love-interest’s friends. The group date takes pressure off you and your love-interest by having others around to mix and mingle with. Good food and good friends is always a winning combination!
